SOGRANT Uganda Limited is a non-profit-distributing company limited by guarantee, registered and operating in Uganda. We were founded on a simple belief: that communities have the knowledge, creativity, and strength to solve their own challenges — they simply need the right resources, connections, and support structures to act.
We focus on three interconnected pillars: community-led education, youth empowerment, and social innovation. These are not separate programmes — they are a unified approach to building resilient, self-determining communities where every young person can thrive.
Since our founding, we have grown from a small team working with a handful of schools to an organisation reaching thousands of young people across multiple districts in Uganda. Our work is guided by evidence, shaped by community voices, and sustained by long-term partnerships with local institutions, government agencies, and like-minded organisations.
Uganda has remarkable human potential — a young, energetic population, vibrant cultural knowledge, and strong community bonds. Yet many young people still face significant barriers to quality education, employment, and civic participation.
Top-down interventions have often failed to stick. We take a fundamentally different approach: we listen first, then co-design with communities — ensuring programmes reflect real needs, build local ownership, and create lasting change long after our direct involvement ends.
A clear purpose guides everything we do — from the way we design programmes to the partnerships we choose to build.
"To empower Ugandan communities by co-creating inclusive, sustainable education and youth development solutions that unlock human potential and build collective resilience."
"A Uganda where every young person — regardless of background, location, or circumstance — has access to quality learning, opportunity, and the tools to shape their own future."
These values are not aspirational slogans — they are the standards against which we measure every decision and every action.
Every programme is designed with, not for, the communities we serve. Local knowledge and lived experience are at the centre of all we do.
We operate with full transparency, financial accountability, and ethical rigour in every relationship and every programme we run.
We are open to new ideas, willing to experiment, and committed to learning from what works — and what doesn't.
Our programmes are built to outlast our involvement — creating systems, skills, and structures that communities can own and maintain independently.
We actively work to remove barriers for the most marginalised — girls, children with disabilities, and young people in remote communities.
We invest in monitoring, evaluation, and learning to ensure our resources translate into measurable, real-world change for the people we serve.
A four-stage process that ensures every programme is grounded, community-owned, and built for long-term impact.
We begin with deep community listening — conducting participatory assessments, focus groups, and one-on-one conversations to understand the real needs, assets, and priorities of the people we aim to serve.
We bring community members, educators, youth, and local leaders into the design process — co-creating programmes that are contextually relevant, culturally appropriate, and practically achievable.
We provide technical support, training, and resources to help communities implement their solutions — always reinforcing local ownership rather than dependency on outside expertise.
We rigorously track what works, share our learning openly, and work to scale successful models to new communities — continuously improving based on evidence and community feedback.
Whether you are an individual, an organisation, or a funder — there is a meaningful way for you to contribute to our work across Uganda.
We are the leaders in the building industries and factories. We're word wide. We never give up on the challenges.
