How a Single Classroom Sparked Change Across an Entire Village

In Wakiso district, a community-led reading programme started with twelve children and one trained volunteer. Today, it reaches over 200 learners and has inspired three neighbouring communities to replicate the model.

A dedicated group of practitioners, educators, and community development specialists committed to long-term change in Uganda.

Tom Kasalawo
Executive Director

He has extensive experience in youth programming, partnership development, and systems-oriented project design, including leading multi-stakeholder initiatives and related platforms. He has recently worked for Educate!, Elevate Partners for Education and Teach a Man To Fish and supported elevation of regenerative economic models
 

Godwin Ahabwe
Project Manager

He is responsible for implementation oversight, coordination, and monitoring systems. He has vast experience working on agricultural and agro-eco initiatives. He will support the initiative in actualization of sustainable and marketable prototypes. 

Emureit Steven
Finance and Grants Lead

He brings a wealth of experience when it comes to financial and Tax compliance. He will be responsible for managing the finances and submission of reports in accordance with the institution's Finance and Administration policies
